clothing

A baby wearing many items of winter clothing, headband cap
fur lined coat, shawl and sweater.

Clothing is the most common form of  non verbal communication.
well a non verbal message can be defined as a messages that can be communicated through gestures and touch by body language posture facial expression eye contact and also through material  artifacts meaning objects such as clothing hairstyle etc.

A gotholic girl in miniskirt.

I  think the types of clothing that an individual wears convey a non verbal clues about his or her personality, background, financial status and how others will respond to them.
For example Miniskirts can give a woman the appearance that she is not approachable this shows a certain response in this case, a negative and unapproachable response.

muslim men traditionally wears white
and a cap during the prayer

An individual clothing style can show their culture, mood, level of confidence, interest, values and beliefs. some examples of a person's clothing type in which a negative message is beng conveyed could include a person with a sloopy appeareance mesy hair and wrinkled clothethat person sends a message '' I dont care'' Also a woman who wears a tight dress with low cut may convey a message ''Im attractive''

Alim Khan's bemedaled robes sends a message
about his wealth and status.

my question though is why there is a pressure in cities to look good at all times?  And why there are always comments about what you are wearing and what not?

I personally think that as long as you feel comfortable in your clothing then the  is no need to feel the pressure.

Environmental impact on fashion

The environment and fashion

One of the major issues with fashion and environment is in the relation to the raw materials that used to create textiles for example there may be environmental impacts in places from growing cotton, the use of water for example  and the production of chemicals for synthetic fabric such as nylons etc.

fashion environment
According to the Non Profit Earth pledge, today some 8.000 synthetic chemicals are used throughout the world to turn away materials into textiles. domestically the South African department of agriculture reports that one quater of all pesticides used nation wide go toward growing cotton, primarily for clothing industry. there may be animal concerns also such as the treatment for animals for example cows for leather product even sheep for the production of wool can  be a concern to some people and the use of furs foxes seals from animals is another consideration. The SA Environment Protection Agency argued that many domestic textile manufacturing facilities to be harzardous waste generators and lax standard and enforcement in developing countries where the majority of textile are produced means that untold amount of pollution are likely being deposited into local soils and water ways in region that can hardly stand further environmental insullt. yet this sort of so called fast fashion leaves pollution  footprint with each step of clothing life cycle generating potential environmental and occupational harzards

The precautions the environment and fashion industry can use
  •  firstly to promote the use of renwable reusable and non pollution material production methods
  • Secondly encourage the designers to create and show clothing on the run away models
  • have the ethical fashion forum which provides a variety of tools and resources and runs training sessions
  • the industry can improve its footprint from the inside and drive the costs of more eco friendly material and processes down
  • have networking events to help facilitate moving industry towards practices.

How to dress fashionably

http://www.fashionclothing.com/

Ever wonder how certain people always look nice and you dont? its because they are dressing fashionably and know how to look good!

                                                  http://www.fashionclothes.com/

By following these steps you can be on your way to having a fabulous fashionable wardrobe

  • Organise>Get all your clothes and decide which ones you want and don't want
  • Flatter>  Look at yourself in the mirror and as objectively as possible pick things about your physical appearance, your likes and dislikes what do you want to disguise? whats your body type what do you want to emphasize
  • Style> What  do you like? do you want corporate trendy items into your wardrobe or do you prefer a classic look spend time flipping through catalogues
  •
  • context > where you live? where you go and what you do are major factors in dressing fashionably. just think about what kind of clothing is appropriate for the things you are going to be doing.

  • ask someone else to go with you its always good to have an outsiders opinion.
well being funky is about attitude as it is about what you are wearing as a matter of fact, so the less thought you give your clothes the funkier you will be! my advice: follow these instructions and have a fashionable style.

Fashion in the workplace

Each workplace must have a dominant dress code for example a male wall street lawyer is expected to wear a suit and a tie while a gas station attendent might wear a red shirt with the name tag. A sale assocciate at a record store is expected to dress in the funky style of their clients and a Public relations practitioner at SABC is expected to dress formal.

Proffessional dress is essential to any career path, a person is expected to dress accordingly to the company guidelines whether it is uniformed attire or not. In nowadays employees dress for occasion outside work and they have become so used to the so called trend of fast fashion that they can nolonger care to make a statement with their clothes. They are dressing unproffessional in such a way that men would see an inappropriate dressed  women and think this frees them of their responsibility to behave appropriately. either way no one is responsible for the way someone else chooses to dress if one has control over one self.

Instruction to tell coworkers they dress unproffessional
  • Be honest and tell the truth.
  • kindly suggest that your coworker have a makeover.
  • politely ask your superior to pass out or email a copy of dress code policy to the department.
